An AC repair service in Mirpur spent Tk 15,000 on Google Ads in its first month and got exactly two calls. The owner was ready to quit. When we checked the account, his ads were showing for “AC price”, “AC repair course” and “how to fix AC yourself”. People looking to buy an AC, learn a skill or fix it themselves. Not people who needed a technician today.
We changed the keywords, added negative keywords, and pointed the ads to a simple page with a call button. The next month, the same budget brought 63 calls.
That is the heart of Google Ads in Bangladesh: you can reach people at the exact moment they want what you sell. But only if you set it up carefully. This guide shows you how.
Why Google Ads is different from Facebook ads
Facebook shows ads to people based on who they are and what they watch. Google shows ads to people based on what they are searching for right now. Someone typing “dental implant cost in Dhaka” has a clear need. That intent is what makes Google Ads powerful for leads and sales.
| Google search ads | Facebook ads | |
|---|---|---|
| Reaches | People searching now | People scrolling |
| Best for | High-intent services and products | Discovery and impulse buys |
| Main skill | Keywords and landing pages | Creative and offers |
The main campaign types

Search campaigns
Text ads on Google search results. Best for services, clinics, education, B2B and anything people search for by name.
Performance Max
One AI-driven campaign that shows your ads across Search, Shopping, YouTube, Display, Gmail and Maps. Strong for online stores with a product feed and good tracking. In 2025 Google added more control, such as campaign-level negative keywords and better reporting.
AI Max for Search
Google’s AI upgrade for search campaigns. It uses your website and assets to match more searches and write ad text. In 2026, Google retired Dynamic Search Ads and moved them to AI Max. It can find new searches, but it needs guardrails: brand exclusions, negative keywords and weekly search term checks.
Video campaigns on YouTube
Good for awareness and remarketing, especially for brands with strong video content.
Step 1: Set up the account properly
- Create your Google Ads account with a business Google account you control.
- Set the right currency and time zone (Asia/Dhaka) at the start.
- Add a payment method: an international or dual currency card, or work through an agency.
- Link Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.
- Set up conversion tracking before you spend real money.
Step 2: Choose keywords that mean “buy”
Good keywords show clear intent. Look for words like:
- Service + place: “AC repair Mirpur”, “dentist in Uttara”.
- Price and cost: “website development cost”, “laptop price in Bangladesh”.
- “Near me”, “best”, “service”, “company”, “agency”, “buy”, “order”.
Avoid keywords that mean “learn” or “free”: “course”, “tutorial”, “how to”, “free”, “job”, “PDF”. Add these as negative keywords unless you sell courses.
Step 3: Match types, simply
- Exact match [ac repair mirpur]: tight control, fewer but more relevant clicks.
- Phrase match “ac repair mirpur”: a bit wider.
- Broad match ac repair mirpur: widest, relies on Google’s AI. Use it once your conversion tracking is solid.
When starting, exact and phrase match give you control. Expand later based on data.
Step 4: Write ads that get the right click
- Put the main keyword in the headline.
- Give a clear reason to choose you: “Technician in 2 hours”, “Free first consultation”, “Cash on delivery”.
- Add prices or “from Tk X” to filter out bargain hunters if needed.
- Use assets: call button, location, sitelinks, callouts and structured snippets.
Step 5: Send clicks to a page that converts
Many Bangladeshi businesses send Google traffic to their homepage or Facebook page. That wastes money. Send people to a focused landing page that:
- Repeats the search: “AC Repair in Mirpur, Technician in 2 Hours”.
- Shows proof: reviews, photos of real jobs, years in business.
- Makes action easy: big call button, WhatsApp button, short form.
- Loads fast on mobile data.
See our landing page service for how we design these.
Step 6: Track calls, forms and sales
Without tracking, Google’s bidding is guessing. Track:
- Phone calls from ads and from your website.
- WhatsApp button clicks.
- Form submissions.
- Online purchases with value.
- Offline sales, imported from your CRM, if you can.
Our article on fixing ad tracking explains the setup.
Step 7: Budget and bidding
Start with a daily budget that can buy enough clicks to learn. Begin with “Maximize clicks” or “Maximize conversions”, then move to target CPA or target ROAS once you have steady conversion data. Do not change bids every day. Give campaigns a week or two between big changes.
Where wasted spend hides

Every week, open the search terms report. It shows what people actually typed. Add irrelevant terms as negatives. This one habit saves more money than anything else in Google Ads.
Google Ads for local businesses
Clinics, restaurants, repair services and shops can also show ads on Google Maps. Link your Google Business Profile to Google Ads and use location assets. Combined with a strong profile, this brings calls and visits. Read our guide on ranking on Google Maps in Bangladesh.
Google Ads for online stores
For e-commerce, Google Merchant Center plus Shopping or Performance Max campaigns can work well. You need a clean product feed with titles, prices, images and stock status, plus purchase tracking. Start with your best-selling products, then expand.
Google Ads in Bangladesh by industry
The setup changes a little for each type of business. Here is what tends to work in Bangladesh:
| Industry | Best campaign | Main conversion |
|---|---|---|
| Clinics and hospitals | Search + Maps | Calls and appointment forms |
| Coaching and education | Search + YouTube | Admission forms and calls |
| Real estate | Search + lead forms | Qualified leads and site visits |
| Online stores | Shopping / Performance Max | Purchases with value |
| B2B and exporters | Search in target countries | Inquiries and quote requests |
| Home services | Search by area + call ads | Phone calls |
Exporters and IT companies in Bangladesh often target buyers abroad, in the UK, US, Europe or the Gulf. Clicks there cost more, so landing pages and tracking matter even more. Write ads and pages in the buyer’s language and show proof that works for foreign buyers: certifications, client countries and response times.
A sample starter account
Here is a simple structure for a dental clinic in Dhanmondi. It shows how to keep things tidy from day one.
- Campaign 1: Search, Dental Implants. Keywords like “dental implant dhaka”, “dental implant cost bangladesh”. Landing page about implants, with prices from a starting point and a call button.
- Campaign 2: Search, General Dentist. Keywords like “dentist dhanmondi”, “dental clinic near me”. Location set to a few kilometres around the clinic.
- Campaign 3: Brand. The clinic’s own name, cheap clicks that protect it from competitors bidding on its name.
- Shared negative list: free, course, job, salary, PDF, college, “how to become”.
Each campaign has its own budget, so the clinic can push implants (high value) harder than general check-ups.
Your weekly Google Ads checklist
Thirty minutes a week keeps an account healthy:
- Open the search terms report. Add bad terms as negatives.
- Check that conversions are still recording. A broken tag can waste a month.
- Look at cost per lead or sale by campaign. Move budget toward the winners.
- Pause ads with very low click-through rates and write one new ad to test.
- Review Google’s recommendations. Accept only those that make sense for you.
- Check calls. Did you answer them? A missed call is a paid lead thrown away.
How much should you spend at first?
There is no magic number, but there is a simple way to think about it. Look up the rough cost per click for your main keywords in Keyword Planner. If a click costs Tk 30 and about 1 in 20 clicks becomes a lead, one lead costs around Tk 600. To get 30 leads in a month to learn from, you need about Tk 18,000 plus VAT and tax. If that cost per lead is fine for your business, you have a starting budget. If not, improve the landing page first, or start with fewer, cheaper keywords.
Common mistakes
- No negative keywords.
- Sending traffic to the homepage.
- No conversion tracking, or tracking the wrong action.
- Targeting all of Bangladesh when you only serve one city.
- Turning on broad match and auto-applied recommendations without checking them.
- Judging results after three days.
A negative keyword starter list for Bangladesh
Negative keywords stop your ads from showing for searches that will never buy. Add these to every new search campaign, then remove any that do not fit your business. For example, a training institute should not block “course”.
| Group | Negative keywords to add | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Free seekers | free, pdf, download, crack, apk | People looking for something without paying |
| Job seekers | job, jobs, salary, career, vacancy, circular, internship | Very common in Bangladesh and expensive to ignore |
| Learners | how to, tutorial, course, class, meaning, bangla meaning | Information searches, not buyers (unless you teach) |
| Wrong product type | second hand, used, old, repair (if you only sell new) | Different intent from yours |
| Wrong place | Cities or countries you do not serve | Clicks you cannot deliver to |
| Brands you do not sell | Competitor or brand names you do not stock | The searcher wants something you do not have |
After the first week, open the Search terms report and add every irrelevant search you see. Do this weekly for the first month and monthly after that.
What will your budget bring in?
Use your expected cost per click from Keyword Planner and an honest conversion rate. If the result is not profitable on paper, it will not be profitable in the account.
The AC service, six months later
With exact and phrase match keywords for each area, a clean negative list, a landing page with a call button and call tracking, the AC service grew its Google Ads budget step by step. It now runs separate campaigns for Mirpur, Uttara and Dhanmondi, and Google Ads is its biggest source of jobs in summer.
